Lincoln Theatre - U Street 'Black Broadway' venue

The Lincoln Theatre at 1215 U St NW opened in 1922 and was an important venue on U Street's early 20th-century 'Black Broadway' circuit. The theater hosted performers including Duke Ellington and later underwent restoration before reopening as a performing arts venue in the 1990s. It remains a cultural landmark in the U Street corridor that many locals attend for concerts and events.
