Casa de Pilatos (Lima)

The Casa de Pilatos, also known as Casa Esquivel y Jarava, is a historic building in Lima, Peru, located near the Basilica and Convent of San Francisco. Declared a Cultural Heritage of Peru, it features a unique stone doorway, an elegant imperial staircase, and a two-section hallway. Built around 1590, its name may derive from a similar house in Seville or a local legend involving a tenant accused of heresy. The building has housed aristocratic families and served various cultural functions, currently acting as the headquarters for the Constitutional Court of Peru since 1996.
