Bramhall (mansion)

Bramhall was a grand mansion located in the Western Promenade neighborhood of Portland, Maine, completed in 1858 for industrialist John Bundy Brown. Designed by architect Charles A. Alexander, it was the largest residence in Portland at the time and featured a conservatory. After Brown's death in 1915, the mansion was demolished, and the surrounding 10 acres were sold off, leading to the development of the current neighborhood. Today, this area is part of the Western Promenade Historic District, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
