McLaughlin Motor Car Showroom

The McLaughlin Motor Car Showroom, established in 1925 in Toronto, is a historic site that served as one of the city's first automobile dealerships. Originally built by General Motors Canada, it operated for over eighty years, becoming Canada's largest Cadillac dealership by the 1950s. The building, designed in the Gothic Revival style, was recognized for its heritage value and underwent significant restoration in 1999. Although it was ultimately demolished to make way for the Burano condominium, efforts were made to preserve its historic facade, which now integrates into the new structure. A plaque commemorating its history was placed in 2013, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
