I See What You Mean (Big Blue Bear)

Lawrence Argent's 'I See What You Mean,' commonly called the Big Blue Bear, is a 40-foot-tall resin and fiberglass sculpture peering into the Colorado Convention Center. The sculpture was installed in 2005 and marks the convention center's main entrance. Argent constructed it on a steel armature with a textured synthetic surface to create the bear's fur-like appearance. The work has become a widely recognized symbol of Denver's public art collection.
