Helsinki Synagogue

The Helsinki Synagogue, located in the Kamppi district, is an Orthodox Jewish house of worship completed in 1906, designed in Byzantine Revival and Art Nouveau styles by architect Jac. Ahrenberg. It serves a vibrant community of around 1,200 members and features a distinctive dome that is a notable part of the Helsinki skyline. The synagogue underwent renovations in 1926, adding a library, and is complemented by a community center established in 1967, which includes various facilities such as an aged care center and meeting rooms. Unique to its location, the synagogue observes halachic hours for services, adapting to the long daylight hours of Finnish summers.
