Cathedral of Junk

The Cathedral of Junk is a large, multi-level assemblage sculpture in a South Austin backyard, constructed by artist Vince Hannemann beginning in the late 1980s. It incorporates thousands of found and discarded objects arranged into rooms, towers, and walkways and has been developed incrementally over decades. The installation is located on private property and has been a noted example of Austin outsider art, with visiting arrangements that have varied over time.
