Loggia dei Mercanti

The Loggia dei Mercanti, or 'Merchants' Lodge', is a historical palace located in Ancona, Italy, built in 1442 during a prosperous era for the city. Designed by architect Giovanni Pace, it served as a gathering place for traders near the bustling port. The building features a façade created by Giorgio da Sebenico, adorned with statues symbolizing Hope, Fortitude, Justice, and Charity, along with an equestrian statue of Emperor Trajan. After sustaining damage during World War II, it underwent restoration in the late 20th century, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in medieval architecture and trade history.
