Dexter Community House

The Dexter Community House, also known as The Roundhouse, is a historic building in Dexter, Iowa, completed in 1917. Funded by local community leaders, it replaced an older facility for social and entertainment events. The unique elliptical structure, 145 feet in diameter, features a dome roof supported by hollow blocks and sandstone-finished interior walls. It has served various community functions, including as a high school gymnasium, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in local history.
