Michigan Bell and Western Electric Warehouse

The Michigan Bell and Western Electric Warehouse, now known as the NSO Bell Building, is a historic site located in Detroit, Michigan. Built in 1929-30, it served as a combined warehouse, garage, and office space for Michigan Bell and Western Electric. The building features a striking six-story main section with a central 12-story tower, showcasing Art Deco architectural elements. Notably, it housed a unique 'Weather-Phone' sign that provided weather forecasts to motorists until its removal in 2009. After being sold in 1995, the building underwent a significant redevelopment, transforming it into a mixed-use facility that includes supportive housing and community services, making it a vital part of Detroit's urban renewal efforts.
