Government House, Suva

Government House, the official residence of the president of Fiji, is a historic Georgian mansion built in 1928. It replaced an earlier structure that was destroyed by lightning in 1921. Originally serving as the residence for the colonial governor, it transitioned to the governor-general's residence from 1970 to 1987, before becoming the presidential residence following a republic declaration. Located near the Fiji Museum and the Great Council of Chiefs complex, the building is not open to the public, but tourists can enjoy the changing of the guard ceremony held monthly, showcasing the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.
