Vinton Building

The Vinton Building is a historic residential high-rise located in Downtown Detroit, Michigan, at the intersection of Woodward Avenue and Congress Street. Designed by renowned architect Albert Kahn and completed in 1917, this 12-story neo-classical structure features elegant terra cotta detailing and a peaked parapet reminiscent of classical temples. Designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1982 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, the building has undergone several renovations. After a stalled attempt to convert it into lofts in 2006, it was purchased by Bedrock in 2013, which transformed it into a luxury apartment complex featuring modern amenities, biometric security, and a fine-dining restaurant, BESA. The Vinton Building stands as a testament to Detroit's architectural heritage and revitalization efforts.
