Mason County Courthouse (Texas)

The Mason County Courthouse, located in Mason, Texas, is a historic building constructed between 1909 and 1910, designed by architect Edward Columbus Hosford. Notable for its striking gable front porticoes supported by Doric columns, the courthouse is a key feature of the Mason Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Tragically, the courthouse was severely damaged by an arson fire in February 2021, leaving only its stone exterior intact. Following extensive renovations, it reopened in 2024, allowing visitors to appreciate its restored architectural beauty and historical significance.
