Arnold Arboretum

The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University was established in 1872 and comprises a large living collection and public park in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood. It was developed under botanist Charles Sprague Sargent with landscape input from Frederick Law Olmsted and is part of Boston's Emerald Necklace park system. The Arboretum functions as both a public attraction and a research collection with labeled trees and trails open year-round.
