Spreckels Theatre

Spreckels Theatre opened in 1912 on Broadway in downtown San Diego as a vaudeville and motion-picture palace financed by local businessman John D. Spreckels. The theater has hosted stage productions, concerts, and community events for more than a century and retains much of its historic auditorium character. It remains an active performance venue and is recognized as part of San Diego's early-20th-century cultural infrastructure.
