1995 Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing

On April 19, 1995, a truck bomb detonated outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City, killing 168 people and injuring more than 600. The explosion severely damaged the nine-story building and surrounding structures. The attack prompted a large-scale federal investigation and resulted in the conviction and 2001 execution of Timothy McVeigh.
