Old South Meeting House - organizing site of the Boston Tea Party

Old South Meeting House was the largest meeting place in colonial Boston and on December 16, 1773 hosted the mass meeting where colonists gathered to protest the Tea Act; that meeting directly preceded the Boston Tea Party. Contemporary records document thousands attending and the Meeting House's role as a center for political assembly and collective action. The building is preserved as a museum interpreting its revolutionary-era civic rituals and assemblies.
