McMakin's Tavern

McMakin's Tavern, also known as the Morgan-Stewart House, is a historic stagecoach stop and plantation home located near Lyman in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Built around 1790, this two-story clapboard house features gable end chimneys and a full-width veranda supported by square columns. The interior boasts intricately carved woodwork in the Adam style. Once a bustling stagecoach stop in the early 19th century, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, making it a significant site for tourists and researchers interested in early American history.
