National Archives - home of the Charters of Freedom

The National Archives houses the Charters of Freedom (the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights) on permanent public display in the Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom. Admission to view the documents and the museum exhibits is free, and the building also provides research services and archival access for scholars and the public. The Archives maintains records central to U.S. government history and is a primary destination for residents conducting genealogical and civic-document research.
