Abbey Gate (Sorø)

The Abbey Gate, or Klosterporten, is a historic gatehouse in Sorø, Denmark, dating back to around 1200. Originally part of Absalon's Sorø Abbey, it now provides access to the grounds of Sorø Academy, which features Denmark's longest church building and is home to the oldest inhabited house in the country. The gatehouse was built in two stages, with its distinctive architecture including a cross-shaped layout and groin vaults.
