Lima Cleaning and Pressing Company Building

The Lima Cleaning and Pressing Company Building, constructed in 1890, was a notable example of early commercial architecture located in Lima, Ohio. This two-story brick structure featured a unique facade with intricate wrought iron railings and detailed cornices, distinguishing it from other buildings in the area. Originally serving as offices for dry cleaners and plumbers, it reflected the city's growth following the discovery of petroleum in 1885. Although the building was demolished in 2015, it was recognized for its historical significance and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, highlighting its role in preserving the architectural heritage of South Main Street and the Kibby Corners neighborhood.
