Tunsgate

Tunsgate is a historic neoclassical building located in Guildford, Surrey, England, originally built in 1818 as a corn exchange. This Grade II listed structure features a striking portico with four Tuscan columns and has undergone significant transformations over the years. After serving various civic purposes, including housing court facilities, the building's use as a corn exchange declined in the late 19th century. In the 1930s, most of the original structure was demolished, leaving the portico as a prominent entrance to a car park, which was later redeveloped into the Tunsgate Square shopping centre in the 1970s. The site was further modernized between 2016 and 2018, now known as the Tunsgate Quarter, making it a vibrant destination for shopping and leisure in Guildford.
