Strelitz Buildings

The Strelitz Buildings, located at 30 Mouat Street in Fremantle, Western Australia, were constructed in 1897 by the Strelitz brothers, Paul and Richard, who were prominent merchants and shipping agents. The buildings, designed by architect JF Allen, feature a warehouse and office space and have historical significance, being listed on the Western Australian State Heritage Register since 1994. Notably, Herbert Hoover, who later became the 31st President of the United States, had an office here from 1904 to 1906. The Strelitz brothers played key roles in their community, with Paul serving as a municipal councillor and Richard as a consul for Denmark and later vice consul for Sweden and Norway.
