Ilaro Court

Ilaro Court is the official residence of the Prime Minister of Barbados, located in a stunning mansion built in the early 1920s by Lady Gilbert Carter. This unique structure combines Edwardian, Italian, and Caribbean architectural styles and features the first swimming pool in Barbados, once used by Prince Edward. The extensive gardens, designed by landscape architect Doris Turnbull, include a gazebo and fishpond. Ilaro Court has served as the residence for several prime ministers since the 1980s and is maintained by the Barbados National Trust, which offers tours for visitors to explore its rich history and beautiful grounds.
