West Point Lighthouse at Discovery Park

The West Point Lighthouse, established in 1881, marks the entrance to Puget Sound and is a functioning navigational light maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard. The lighthouse sits at the western tip of Discovery Park and is reached visually via park trails that lead to viewpoints; the lighthouse structure and lantern are not normally open to the public. Its coastal position and modest profile make the historic light easy to overlook compared with the park's larger bluff and beach attractions.
