Harrison Gray Otis House (Charles Bulfinch, Federal style)

The Harrison Gray Otis House on Beacon Hill was designed by Charles Bulfinch and completed in 1796 as an exemplar of Federal-period domestic architecture in Boston. The three-story brick townhouse features typical Federal elements such as a symmetrical facade, fanlighted entrance, and refined interior woodwork. The house has been preserved and interpreted as a historic house museum documenting late-18th- and early-19th-century urban elite domestic life.
