Ice House (Moulton, Alabama)

The Ice House is a historic commercial building in Moulton, Alabama, built in 1946 during the post-World War II boom. Originally serving as an ice production facility until 1977, it provided ice to local homes, businesses, and notable clients like Legion Field and the Browns Ferry Nuclear Power Plant. Today, the building operates as an antique store, preserving its original icemaking equipment. The structure features a one-story concrete block design with distinctive architectural elements, including original wood doors and a projecting office. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000, making it a noteworthy stop for tourists and researchers interested in local history.
