Hotel Whitney

The Hotel Whitney, a historic Art Deco building in Atlantic, Iowa, was completed in 1931 and originally designed to be a 10-story structure. Notably, it served as a bomb shelter during its early years. Currently, the hotel is being transformed into 18 senior apartments on the upper floors, while the main floor will host a restaurant focusing on breakfast and lunch. The building was recognized for its historical significance and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers.
