Pure Food Building

The Pure Food Building was a prominent exhibition hall at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, Ontario, opened in 1922 and known for its Italianate architecture and innovative design featuring six open-air courts. It was celebrated as the largest permanent exhibition building of its time, showcasing a variety of food-related exhibits. The building became a hub for trade and cultural exchange, particularly during the 1920s and 1930s, attracting numerous exhibitors and visitors. However, by the early 1950s, it was deemed outdated and was demolished in 1953 to make way for a modern Food Building, reflecting the evolving needs of the CNE. Today, the site continues to serve as a key location for exhibitions and events at the CNE.
