Squire Chase House

The Squire Chase House, located on Main Street in Fryeburg, Maine, is a historic residence dating back to around 1767. Originally built by early settler Nathaniel Merrill, the house showcases a blend of Federal and Greek Revival architectural styles. It was moved to its current location in 1824 by Stephen and Mary Chase. The property features a 19th-century barn and distinctive Italianate elements added in the mid-19th century. Still in the Pike family since 1908, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in early American history and architecture.
