Ford Piquette Avenue Plant (birthplace of the Model T)

Built in 1904, the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant is where Henry Ford and his early engineers developed and built the prototype and initial production runs of the Model T. The building now operates as the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant Museum, preserving the original workspace known as Studio A and interpreting early Ford history. The plant is designated a National Historic Landmark and is open to the public for tours and educational programs about early automotive manufacturing.
