Hall of Nations

The Hall of Nations, inaugurated in 1972 in New Delhi, was a groundbreaking exhibition hall celebrated for its architectural innovation as the world's first and largest-span space-frame structure in reinforced concrete. Designed by architect Raj Rewal, it served as a significant venue for trade fairs, including the notable Asia 72. Despite its historical importance and recognition by institutions like the Museum of Modern Art, the Hall was demolished in 2017 to make way for the Bharat Mandapam complex, sparking widespread public outcry and criticism over the loss of an architectural landmark that symbolized India's modern identity.
