Lobkowicz Palace

Lobkowicz Palace, located within the Prague Castle complex, is the only privately owned building in this historic area. Built in the late 16th century, it showcases the Lobkowicz Collections, featuring masterpieces by renowned artists like Velázquez and Brueghel, as well as significant musical manuscripts from composers such as Beethoven and Mozart. The palace has a rich history, having served various roles from a noble residence to a hospital during the Napoleonic Wars. After a tumultuous period of confiscation during the Nazi and Communist regimes, it was returned to the Lobkowicz family in 2002 and opened as a museum in 2007. Visitors can explore its baroque architecture, including the stunning Concert Hall, and enjoy regular classical music concerts.
