Glide Memorial Church

Glide Memorial Church is a United Methodist congregation on Ellis Street in the Tenderloin noted for extensive social service programs. Under the long-term leadership of Rev. Cecil Williams beginning in the 1960s, Glide became widely known for its work on hunger, homelessness, and racial justice. The church operates daily community meal programs, numerous social service initiatives, and is also known for its gospel music and choir performances.
