Fenway Park hosted World Series games in its inaugural year (1912)

Fenway Park opened in April 1912 and hosted World Series games that same year during the championship between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants. The Red Sox won the 1912 World Series, and Fenway's use for postseason play in its first season established the park’s long-standing role in Major League Baseball history. Fenway has since hosted World Series games in multiple subsequent seasons.
