Gandhi Hall, Yangon

Gandhi Hall, located at the intersection of Merchant Street and Bo Aung Kyaw Road in downtown Yangon, Myanmar, is a historically significant building. Originally the office of The Rangoon Times, it was acquired in 1951 for the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Trust by Prime Minister U Nu and Indian ambassador M. A. Rauf. The hall played a pivotal role in Myanmar's political history, serving as the venue for the gathering of elected representatives following the 1990 elections, where the Gandhi Hall Declaration was issued.
