Teatro Aberto

Teatro Aberto, located in Lisbon near Praça Espanha, is a vibrant theater founded in 1976 by a group of artists. It is known for its diverse repertoire, featuring both classic and contemporary works from renowned playwrights like Shakespeare, Brecht, and Chekhov. The theater has produced 76 plays, 5 operas, and 22 concerts, showcasing the talents of over 300 actors and musicians. It also collaborates with the Portuguese Society of Authors to host the annual Grande Prémio de Teatro Português, making it a significant cultural hub for both tourists and researchers interested in the performing arts.
