Palace of Fine Arts (Panama-Pacific International Exposition structure)

The Palace of Fine Arts was designed by architect Bernard Maybeck and built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition. Its classical rotunda and colonnades are among the best-known surviving elements from that exposition. The original temporary materials deteriorated and the structure was largely reconstructed in permanent materials during the 1960s. The site now houses an exhibition space and is a frequently photographed landmark in the Marina District.
