Albion Hall

Albion Hall, constructed between 1849 and 1850 in Hackney, served as a cultural hub for the community, initially managed by the Literary and Scientific Institute. It hosted lectures, a library, and various classes, including chess and arts. In 1861, it transitioned to an assembly hall and later incorporated public swimming baths. Although it was licensed for events until 1894, the hall closed in 1897 but was reopened by the London School Board in 1899. Unfortunately, the building was demolished in 1944 due to damage from World War II.
