McNay Art Museum - Texas's first museum of modern art

The McNay Art Museum opened to the public in 1954 after Marion Koogler McNay donated her Spanish Colonial Revival home and art collection. It is widely documented as the first museum of modern art in Texas and houses significant collections of 19th- and 20th-century European and American art. The museum also features the Tobin Collection of Theatre Arts and a notable campus with later modern wings added to the original estate.
