Philadelphia's Magic Gardens (Isaiah Zagar mosaics)

Philadelphia's Magic Gardens is an indoor/outdoor mosaic art environment created by Isaiah Zagar that covers approximately 3,000 square feet and includes extensive mosaic walls and installations. Zagar began installing mosaics along South Street and in the surrounding neighborhood in the late 1960s, and many outdoor mosaic walls were produced with the help of community volunteers, students, and local businesses. The site operates as a nonprofit museum that preserves Zagar’s work and related community-made mosaic walls and offers tours and community arts programming.
