Charles Ready House

The Charles Ready House, also known as The Corners, is a historic house located in Readyville, Tennessee, built in 1829 for Colonel Charles Ready. This notable structure served as an inn, hosting prominent guests including Presidents Andrew Jackson, Martin Van Buren, and James K. Polk. The house played a significant role during the American Civil War, being visited by both Confederate and Union forces. Currently under private ownership, it was previously a bed and breakfast until its closure in December 2020. The house, designed in the Federal architectural style, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is undergoing reconstruction after sustaining damage from a tornado in April 2023, with plans to complete renovations by December 2024.
