Scholz Garten, Austin's historic beer garden

Scholz Garten was established in 1866 as a German-style beer garden and is one of the oldest continuously operating beer gardens in Texas. Located near the Texas State Capitol, the site has long been a gathering place for University of Texas fans, political events, and community gatherings. The restaurant and beer garden continue to serve German-influenced fare and beers at the same downtown Austin location.
