Monroe Tavern

Monroe Tavern, also known as McMasters Tavern, is a historic inn and tavern located in South Union Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Built around 1825, this Early Republic style sandstone building features a distinctive 2+1⁄2-story, 5-bay design with a center hall floor plan and a kitchen ell. Once a popular stop for 19th-century travelers on the National Road, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
