Texas School Book Depository / Sixth Floor Museum

The red-brick former Texas School Book Depository at 411 Elm Street is an early 20th-century commercial warehouse building that now houses the Sixth Floor Museum. The building retains its original multi-pane windows and freight-level loading configuration typical of turn-of-the-century warehouse architecture. It is also the documented location from which shots were fired during the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963; the museum interprets both the event and the building's history.
