Federated Malay States Survey Office

The Federated Malay States Survey Office, located in Jalan Tun Perak, Kuala Lumpur, is an early 20th century building designed by Arthur Benison Hubback and completed in 1910. Originally housing the Survey Department of the British colonial administration, it played a crucial role in mapping Malaya. The building features an Indo-Saracenic architectural style with a striking facade, including a 400-foot colonnade and octagonal towers topped with copper domes. After serving various judicial functions, the building fell into disrepair after 2000, but it is recognized as a heritage site and is undergoing refurbishment to preserve its historical significance.
