Tennessee State Museum – African American and Civil Rights Exhibits

The Tennessee State Museum at Bicentennial Capitol Mall includes exhibits documenting African American history in Tennessee and the civil rights movement, including materials related to the 1960 Nashville sit-ins. Its collections hold artifacts, photographs, and oral histories that record Black Tennesseans' social, political, and cultural contributions. The museum moved into its current Bicentennial Mall building after a major renovation and reopening in 2018.
