Fremont Troll (bridge guardian gag)

The Fremont Troll is a large public sculpture created in 1990 by a team including Steve Badanes, Will Martin, and Donna Walter, located under the north end of the Aurora Bridge. Constructed of concrete and rebar and clutching a Volkswagen Beetle, the Troll is a well-known Fremont landmark and frequent photo spot. Locals often joke that the Troll 'guards' Fremont and use it as shorthand for the neighborhood's quirky character.
