William Gaston Caperton Jr. House

The William Gaston Caperton Jr. House, also known as 'Wyndridge,' is a historic home located near Union in Monroe County, West Virginia. Built in 1872, this Georgian-style house features a striking Greek Revival portico and incorporates elements from two late 18th-century log structures and the early pioneer Blanton House from 1773. The property includes several contributing buildings, such as a log ice house, smoke house, barn, and various sheds. This site is not only significant for its architecture but also as the residence of a former West Virginia governor, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers interested in history and heritage. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
