Skindergade 36 is a historic Neoclassical building complex located in the heart of Copenhagen's Old Town, near Gammeltorv. This architectural gem features two four-storey buildings connected by a side wing, surrounding a central courtyard. The site has a rich history, originally housing a wine house known as Dyrkøb in the 17th century, which contributed to the street's name. Notably, it served as a senior citizens home for the Jewish congregation from 1899 to 1961 and has been home to prominent figures such as painter Niels Simonsen and musician H. S. Paulli. Listed as a protected building since 1945, Skindergade 36 offers visitors a glimpse into Copenhagen's cultural heritage and architectural evolution.
